You Asked, I Answered.

One thing that makes Daily Dose of Prep so special is the interaction I get to have with my readers. You all are so vocal whether it be on my Instagram comments, in my direct messages or in my inbox. Rarely do I share answers to your questions on the blog, so I thought today I would answer some of your most frequently asked questions from the past few months. I extend the opportunity for questions on my Instagram yesterday and here's what you all asked me. Q: What's the biggest benefit of having your blog? A: The biggest benefit of having a blog was that I learned a lot about my current major before college. I might not have learned the exact terms for certain areas of public relations or me

The Mock Neck Top You Need

Last weekend my neighbor texted me as the sun was setting if I wanted to take advantage of golden hour that evening. I am never one to turn down a photo opportunity, so of course I threw myself together and headed off with her to snap a few pics. With the sun setting in 40 minutes, we didn't have time to scout a location or travel a far distance, so we ended up venturing into downtown Harrisonburg to find a few brick walls or store fronts that would make for a good backdrop. We ended up parking on the top level of a parking deck which turned out to be a great location for a photoshoot. The gorgeous sunset and neutral background made for a phenomenal setting to share my natural toned outfit.

Weekly Skinny: February 13th

Back with another Weekly Skinny post for your Wednesday. A lot has been happening in life, so let me catch you up to speed. First, last week I was asked by the JMU PINK team to speak on a panel with 7 other "girl bosses" on campus to share my story of Daily Dose of Prep and answer questions. Truthfully, it was a blast. Not only did I link up with a few girls on campus I haven't met yet, but I also realized how unique my platform is here. It was really nice to chat with girls from the JMU community who have been loyal followers since before they even attended JMU. Second, I have been applying to internships like it's nobody's business. I'm currently having a love/hate relationship with Linked

The Easiest Neutral Look

Dressing up and going out with friends doesn't have to be complicated. Even I overthink what to wear to dinner with my girlfriends or out to a party, but I feel like I'm exhausting myself in the mean time. I love a simple outfit that I feel confident in and right now it's styling a neutral sweater with my denim skirt. This denim skirt is from H&M and only cost $25. I did a little extra distressing on them, but I love this high waisted skirt. It looks great styled with tights underneath too if you wanted to wear it on a chillier day. I tucked my grey ribbed turtleneck from Forever21 into the skirt. Although this outfit is extremely simple, it's trendy and is comprised of versatile items that

February 30 Under $30

February signals to every fashionista that although we're still experiencing severely cold weather, spring is just around the corner. We want to put on our coziest sweater and shop for swimsuits or spend our snow day looking for platform espadrilles. Today's 30 Under $30 shares a few items for chilly winter days, but also shares a few thinner layers for early spring. I even shared a few accessories that would polish off any springtime look. Right now, neutral palettes still seem to be very popular. Tortoise shell details and ribbed textures also seem everywhere, too. Not only that, but animal prints are all over the fashion scene. Anything cheetah print or snakeskin has captured blogger's he

Managing a Small Closet

Apartment life has treated me well except for the limited closet space. At home, I have two big closets perfect for all of my clothes and shoes, but at school I have much less space for everything. Believe it or not, I actually have two closets in my bedroom at school too. It's the only bedroom that does actually. One is a nicely carpeted closet tucked into one corner of my room meant for clothing and the other closet is in the exact opposite corner, covered in tile, outfitted with a light, that houses the hot water heater. Since I moved in I hung my clothes, stored my shoes, and folded my t shirts in the small, carpeted closet. The other closet held storage boxes, linens and extra water bot

February Wishlist

Goodbye January and yellow February. February is one of my favorite months because it's the last few weeks of winter, but I can appropriately shop for pre-spring clothing. I am already making Pinterest boards full of pastels and baby animals. With February comes a ridiculously busy schedule, something I'm not looking forward to, but with busy days come the potential for incredible reward. Today I'm sharing my February wishlist which shares not only Ugg boots but a swimsuit that needs to make its way into my wardrobe ASAP. I also shard a Yankees baseball tee that I need to get before Spring Training goes into full swing (pun completely intended). Of course, everything is linked. Happy shoppin
