2019!! What a fresh start! I headed back to school a few days early to enjoy a stay-cation in my apartment. I've only been here for a few days but I've already purged my room, taken down the Christmas decorations and run almost every item of clothing and linens I own through the wash. It's a nice way to start off a new year -- cleaning out my clutter and washing away dirt both figuratively and literally. It's also a nice excuse to not go anywhere, not spend any money, and not

Back with another weekly skinny during this crazy finals week! Today, I take my first final after turning in a slew of papers and final projects. As a communications major and writing minor, I don't take tests too often so I'm unimaginably nervous. Throughout the semester I've written 25 papers and only taken 6 exams, so needless to say, written finals aren't my strong suit! I'm so excited though because tomorrow I'll be heading home back to Richmond to celebrate Christmas wi

This might be my favorite week of the year. Something about Thanksgiving break just gets me really excited about the Christmas season. It's the week where my family starts decorating the house and I start planning Christmas posts and my holiday shopping. I also love this week because it's the first week in the past 13 that I have no school responsibilities. The fact that I can go to bed before midnight on a regular basis while on Thanksgiving break is the greatest thing. Last

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope everyone has something fun and spooky planned, or at least got the opportunity to celebrate this past weekend! I will say even though Halloween is an exciting day, I'm ready to see it pass. For me this trifecta of holidays is the best time of year, but the Thanksgiving and Christmas are what catch my attention. I may or may not have pulled my Christmas tree out of its box this morning and I know for a fact my mother started pulling out and ass

I've been to bed at 3am every night this week -- it's that kind of week. You know, those weeks where you swear your professors all sat down and meticulously scheduled everything on the same day. We've all been there and it's all good stress but yes, it's been one of those weeks. In addition to a busy schedule, each morning has been below 30 degrees. Can you predict a bad east coast winter, because I can! Nevertheless, seeing frost on the grass and a warm color palette on the

Currently sitting in a Barnes & Noble café waiting for my Starbucks order - all is right in the world. Did I mention it's also 57 degrees? Fall is here and I am happy! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far. With half of the week behind us, I've got nothing but eyes for the weekend. This work week has been particularly busy with midterms and literature review papers to work on. I swear I've stayed up until 2am every night since Saturday, but this is all good stress!

It's 60 degrees and sunny from here. The beginning of the week was so ridiculously hot. I gave tours and was seriously sweating through my tour polo on Monday afternoon. From here on out though, it's looking like Mother Nature has decided Virginia would be receiving crisp 60-degree weather for the next several days. I can't wait to pull out my favorite pair of J. Crew toothpick jeans and heathered mock turtleneck to wear on Friday. What I'm Eating: I haven't tried out any new

Can it be Friday already? Do you know the stress you feel when a crazy busy week that sneaks up on you? That's me. Right now. The crazy thing about having channels like Instagram and a blog is that they share exactly what I want for you to see and currently, I'm not sharing too much because my life is like a tornado ran through it. Soon I want to share a post about how I manage school and blogging and all the struggles that I've personally faced with that, but for now, I wan

Weekly Skinny: September 26th
It's the last week of September! I feel like September has been going on forever but, I swear last year this month flew by the quickest. Even with such a busy schedule I still feel like these past few weeks have gone by so slowly. Good news is, it's hump day and the weekend is just about here. I'm stoked to be going home this weekend to visit my parents and sisters. I haven't been home since moving to school, so a few days back in Crozier will be nice. Technically, this semes

Weekly Skinny: September 7th
Finally Friday! Woo woo! This week has been forever long it feels like, I woke up bright and early on Monday morning with a powerful head cold. Ever since I've been taking Vitamin C drops like crazy and sanitizing just about everything in sight. I even Clorox wiped by desk at the library down before sitting. I'm not taking any chances to further deteriorate my health because recruitment starts today! YES! That's right, formal sorority recruitment starts today and I am so exci
